Meason Has A Reputation For Making Excellent Double Reeds. Meason Bassoon Reeds Are Available In Medium Soft, Medium, And Medium Hard Strengths. General Information On Bassoon Reeds: Bassoon Reeds Are Typically Available Made Of Wood Or Plastic. Usually The Wood Reeds Are Made Of ''Cane'', A Natural Material Similar In Structure To Bamboo. We Almost Always Recommend Cane Reeds Over Plastic Reeds, Since They Sound A Lot Better, And Are Usually A Lot More Manageable. Plastic Reeds Cost More, But Will Last A Lot Longer (Months Instead Of Weeks). We Find It Difficult To Get A Good Sound On A Bassoon Using A Plastic Reed.
