The Material Is At The Heart Of The Performance Of A Légère Reed. It Has Not Been Used To Make Woodwind Reeds Before. Some Basic Information:

Natural Cane Has A Variation In Material Properties Such As Density And Stiffness. Cane Reeds For A Particular Mouthpiece Are Generally Made With A Single Fixed Profile, And Then Graded According To Strength: Stiff Cane Produces “Harder” Reeds. We Have Been Able To Duplicate This Property Variation In Our Material, But Since We Control The Material Properties Very Precisely, We Can Deliver Reeds Of Consistent Strength - You Won’T Have To Hunt Through A Box To Find One That Works.
