Gunter Maibach String instruments are entirely handmade in workshops
that are virtually identical to German workshops from the late 1800’s. Each
instrument is handcrafted in the European tradition. Each instrument is
crafted from select, seasoned tone woods reflecting flamed back and ribs
with superb straight, narrow grain spruce tops, and assembled exactly like
those found in Europe a century ago. Varnished with a beautiful ambercolored
varnish that is both bright and translucent.
The Maibach outfit includes a hand made brazilwood bow with ebony frog fully mounted in
nickel and mother-of-pearl as well as an oblong case with an exterior music pocket
and plush lined interior.
