The instrument has a fully carved solid spruce top, nicely flamed maple back and sides. The Doetsch cello has select dense ebony for the purfling, pegs, tailpiece and is finished with a hand applied antique style varnish. Helicore strings are fitted to enhance the clear, rich tone of the Ludwig Doetsch cello. This instrument is made in the time0honored tradition and method of a German workshop.
